Virtual Manufacturing Tours

Virtual Manufacturing Tours

Due to COVID 19, the students at Chisago Lakes Schools have not been able to participate in the annual tours of local manufacturing facilities within Chisago County. These tours are instrumental to introduce students to manufacturing as a potential choice for their post high school career.  It also helps local manufacturers attract future workforce.

Thanks to contributions from the Blandin Foundation, 8 virtual tours, or videos, will be created and shown to high school students.  The videos consist of a representative discussing the history of the company, their product, the work culture, and various jobs in their facility, followed by a ‘tour of the facility’ to show the actual operations, equipment and working conditions.  After the virtual tours are viewed, they may be followed up with a live teleconference session between the manufacturer representatives and the students.

The students are then able to ask further questions about each business and potential careers in manufacturing.  Following are a some of the completed virtual manufacturing videos.
